Vinh University organizes the program "Warm Tet for poor students"

(Baonghean.vn) - Responding to the appeal letter "Tet for the poor", on the evening of February 10, Vinh University organized the "Warm Tet Program for poor students - Year of the Goat 2015".

The program is organized to help and support students with difficult circumstances to celebrate the traditional New Year in a joyful and warm atmosphere. Thereby, it aims to contribute to encouraging the spirit, helping them overcome their circumstances and achieve high results in studying and training.

Giving flowers to sponsors

This is the second year Vinh University has organized this activity. In 2015 alone, the program gave gifts to 724 students with especially difficult circumstances, who are striving to excel in their studies, with the total value of the gifts reaching over 300 million VND. This amount was taken from the daily salary contributions of teachers, staff in the school and businesses, and sponsors. Saigon Bank gave 7 scholarships, each worth 3 million VND, to poor but excellent students.

Also on this occasion, the Board of Directors of Vinh University allocated 2 billion VND from the school's welfare fund to establish a fund to "Support students". Previously, Vinh University also gave 300 gifts to poor people in difficult mountainous districts, supported 44 million VND to 2 ethnic minority schools in Quy Chau and Quy Hop and donated 80 sets of tables and chairs.for 2 secondary schools in Thanh Chuong district and donated 100 million VND to the program "Tet for the poor".
