“Earlier on the day14/6/2014, we received the above 2 tigers handed over by the Quynh Luu District Police (Nghe An) when this agency caught them in an illegal tiger trafficking case. When receiving these two tigers, they were quite seriously injured. After nearly 6 months of care and treatment, the two tigers are now developing well. However, because the Pu Mat National Park Wildlife Conservation and Care Center has not yet ensured the facilities, nor enough funds to raise them long-term, we asked the Provincial People's Committee to hand over these two tigers to the Hanoi Wildlife Center for continued raising. At the time of receiving the two tigers, including 1 male and 1 female, they were in a deep coma, injured, with swollen legs due to being tied. The male weighed 90kg and the female weighed 70kg. These are 2 Indochinese tigers, belonging to group 1B, rare animals," said Mr. Cuong.

Before that, on the evening of13/6/2014On National Highway 1A, the joint force of the district police and the Forest Protection Department of Quynh Luu district received a report from the people that they had spotted a truck without a license plate and had many suspicious signs. They immediately signaled the vehicle to stop for inspection. However, the driver did not obey the order and stepped on the gas and ran away.

Then, knowing they could not escape, the subjects threw two anesthetized tigers onto the street and ran away.14/6/2014, the authorities have handed over these two tigers to Pu Mat National Park for care.
