The next generation Kia K5 will look sharper

Entering the second generation, Kia K5 (or Optima) promises to bring the standards of the car line to a new level.

The Kia K5 will be the first model to be designed in the company's completely new design language, dedicated to sedans. According to Kia's design team, the car will have an extremely unique, sharp appearance, making it look different from the company's recent models such as the Sorento or Sedona.

Kia's signature "tiger nose" grille will continue to be used on the new K5, along with modern headlights and larger taillights at the back. The petrol version will have sporty air intakes on the front bumper; while the hybrid version will have the ability to close the air intakes and only open when cooling is needed, for optimal aerodynamic efficiency.

Inside, the K5 will be much more luxurious and comfortable than the current version, with some new details confirmed including: leather-wrapped dashboard, chrome trim, 8-inch touch screen and new generation infotainment system...

As planned, the new Kia K5/Optima will be officially launched at the New York exhibition next April.
