Nghe An football team wants to borrow the striker born in 1985 for the second leg of V-League 2015.

“Recently, Cong Vinh has not been used by coach Le Thuy Hai, while we are lacking good strikers. Therefore, when Binh Duong went to Vinh to play in the fourth round of V-League 2015, I asked club president Tran Van Duong to lend Cong Vinh to Song Lam Nghe An for the return leg,” said Nguyen Hong Thanh, General Director of Song Lam Nghe An Football Joint Stock Company.

Binh Duong promised to consider Song Lam Nghe An's request but so far there has been no response. The leaders of the reigning V-League champions said that although Cong Vinh has not played regularly recently, he is still a strategic player for the team.

Cong Vinh scored to help Binh Duong beat Can Tho 3-1 in round six, but coach Le Thuy Hai said he is still not sure of a starting position in the next round.

Binh Duong recruited Cong Vinh before the 2015 season with a three-year contract and a signing bonus of seven billion VND. It was not until the sixth round of the V-League last weekend that the striker born in 1985 was able to start his first match and he scored his first goal for the reigning champions in the V-League.

“After Cong Vinh’s contract expired, Song Lam Nghe An really wanted to keep him but we couldn’t find a common voice. The team wanted to sign a yearly contract while Cong Vinh wanted a three-year contract. As a last resort, Song Lam Nghe An had to let this player go to Binh Duong,” added Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh.

After Cong Vinh left, the Nghe An team recruited Abubakar and Bosman with an average monthly salary of 300 million VND each. However, these two players were a big disappointment, Abubakar was considered a "wooden leg" while Bosman often had to sit on the bench. Currently, the Nghe An team is having to rely on two new domestic strikers who have just been promoted to the first team, Phuc Tinh and Tuan Tai.
