Growing safe vegetables in Phong village

(Baonghean.vn) - For about 4-5 years now, people in the central area of ​​Tuong Duong district have become familiar with the clean vegetable brand of Ban Phong (Thach Giam commune).

This model is coordinated by the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee and the Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Vinh University, according to the policy that each agency and unit receives support for a poor commune. Through the local government, these units conduct surveys, plan vegetable growing areas, build irrigation systems, support capital, seedlings, and provide technical training for farmers.

When deployed and applied, the safe vegetable growing model in Phong village has been effective, contributing to creating a regular and stable source of income, solving employment for the people here. Up to now, the village has 53 farming households participating in safe vegetable production, each vegetable crop earns about 10 million VND/household. Vegetables here are grown year-round, depending on the season and weather, people choose to grow suitable vegetable varieties. In Phong village, a specialized vegetable growing area has been formed. Vegetables produced by Phong village mainly supply the market in the district, selling out as much as possible, because consumer demand is increasing day by day.
