The Spring Newspaper Fair of the Year of the Goat 2015 will be the largest ever.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Goat 2015, the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Hanoi People's Committee jointly organized the 2015 National Spring Press Festival.

On the morning of February 2nd, the Organizing Committee of the National Spring Press Festival 2015 (Year of the Goat) held a press conference to introduce the scale and content of this year's Spring Press Festival.

With the theme "Celebrating the Party, Celebrating Spring, Celebrating the new opportunities of the country," the 2015 Spring Press Festival is scheduled to take place over four days (from February 7-10, or the 19th-22nd day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Horse) at the Vietnam Exhibition and Convention Center (Giang Vo, Hanoi).

The Spring Press Festival features 65 press units and organizations at the central and local levels, with 120 booths displaying traditional Spring and Tet (Lunar New Year) newspapers, an overall picture of revolutionary journalism, a summary of achievements in national construction, development and defense, and future plans towards a new stage of national development.

According to Mr. Truong Minh Tuan, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications and Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the 2015 National Spring Press Festival, the great achievements of journalism in 2014 were vividly reflected at the 2015 National Spring Press Festival.

Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan and Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Ha Minh Hue chaired the press conference.

“The main achievements of the press over the past year are, firstly, the dissemination of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, and essential tasks; secondly, the effective functioning of media and cultural agencies; thirdly, the effective dissemination of information about Vietnam's sovereignty over its seas and islands; fourthly, the press successfully publicized major events in 2014; fifthly, the effective dissemination and promotion of Vietnam's image abroad; and sixthly, the press closely followed real-life situations, effectively reflecting the movement to study and follow the moral example of Ho Chi Minh and commending new factors and advanced models. Another highlight of our press is its effective portrayal of the image of media agencies in the current context,” Deputy Minister Truong Minh Tuan stated.

Regarding the new features of this year's Spring Press Festival, Mr. Ha Minh Hue - Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association - said: This year's Spring Press Festival is the largest ever in terms of scale and content. The festival is spectacular, with many journalists' associations from distant provinces such as Son La, Yen Bai, and Ba Ria - Vung Tau participating…

In particular, the Vietnamese press pavilion will have an area of ​​130 square meters and will be designed in the shape of the letter S, representing the country.

The opening ceremony of the 2015 Spring Press Festival took place on the morning of February 7th, and was broadcast on VTV1 of Vietnam Television and streamed live on VOV1 of Vietnam Radio.

Within the framework of the 2015 Spring Press Festival, there will be several seminars and workshops on journalism, exchanges between journalists and the public, and many artistic performances by domestic and foreign art troupes. Also at the National Spring Press Festival, the Organizing Committee will evaluate, score, and award prizes for the most impressive exhibition booth and the most beautiful Spring Newspaper publication.
