Only a few days left until the Lunar New Year of At Mui. In the spring atmosphere of every family, on this occasion of Tet, 11 students with especially difficult circumstances in the province from Nghi Loc, Hung Nguyen, Yen Thanh and Quynh Luu districts had more joy before the new spring. They were given savings books by comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, each worth 5 million VND. This amount of 55 million VND was taken from the royalty fund of comrades at Nghe An Newspaper. From articles with orientation and direction of the leaders for the cause of socio-economic development of the province, about major events of the nation and the country, that precious royalty amount was established by the comrades into a fund and given to studious students with especially difficult circumstances. With the form of giving away savings books, each book worth 5 million VND, from 2012 to now, 26 students in the province have been honored to receive savings books.

This year, Hung Nguyen district has 3 students with difficult circumstances selected to receive savings books. They are Nguyen Bao Viet, a 4C student at Nguyen Truong To Primary School, Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, a 9A student at Hung Tay Secondary School and Vo Thi Ha, a 12A1 student at Pham Hong Thai High School.

Living in hamlet 11, Hung Trung commune, Hung Nguyen district, Nguyen Bao Viet, a small and smart boy who has been an excellent student for 3 consecutive years, is the second son of Nguyen Ba Hien and Nguyen Thi Tham. For many years now, his family's life has been in a state of constant poverty because his older brother, Nguyen Ba Nhat, has a congenital heart disease with pulmonary atresia. Loving their son, his parents took him to many places for examination and treatment, but all they received were head shakes and helplessness from the doctors, and the only solution was to use medicine to help. Nhat often fainted, his toes and hands were swollen, and he had difficulty speaking. Also because of sadness over his illness, and because of running around too much to get medicine for his son, Viet's mother also fell ill 3 years ago. With the terrible heart disease, she had to wear a pacemaker for 3 years now. Unable to do any heavy work, only doing housework, several times a year both mother and son had to pack up and go to Hanoi for medical check-ups and the hardest part was paying for the monthly medicine. Viet's father struggled with the farm work alone, and many times he thought he could not survive to take care of his wife and children.

For Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, a 9th grader at Hung Tay Secondary School, the situation is different. She lacked the warmth of her father since she was a child, living with her grandmother and mother, who was sick all year round. Medicine for her grandmother, tuition for her and the living expenses of her three children only depended on her mother's 3 million salary as a worker at a company in Bac Vinh Industrial Park. However, overcoming her circumstances, she soon helped her grandmother and mother and always strived to study well.

When mentioning the family of Mr. Vo Trong Khoa and Ms. Tran Thi Xoan in Hamlet 5, Hung Khanh Commune, Hung Nguyen District, everyone is amazed at the academic achievements of their two daughters. The eldest child, Vo Thi Hong, is currently a senior student at the University of Commerce, the second daughter, Vo Thi Ha, is currently studying in class 12 A1 at Pham Hong Thai High School - Hung Nguyen District. For many years, Ha has been an excellent student, especially in grade 9, she won the district's excellent student in Biology, and the second prize in the district's excellent student in Physics. Happy for the couple to have two excellent children, but the neighbors all sympathize with the family's situation. Since 1997, after giving birth to their first child for 7 months, his wife suffered from arthritis. After being treated everywhere for 4 years, fortunately, her condition has improved. But ironically, since last year, she has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and to save her life, she has had to undergo two surgeries at Hospital 108 and undergo radiation therapy. Although she has health insurance, each treatment costs the family tens of millions of dong. Overcoming her circumstances, Vo Thi Ha has a special determination, striving to study well with only one dream of passing the entrance exam to Hue University of Medicine to be able to treat her mother's illness. Her father, with the motivation for his daughter to study well, also works day and night to transport goods and install equipment for an electrical and water equipment store.

Sharing the feelings of the provincial leaders for poor but studious students, teacher Nguyen Dinh Nguyen - Department of Education and Training of Hung Nguyen district said that in recent years, thanks to the community movements, many disadvantaged students of Hung Nguyen have somewhat reduced their difficulties and have been given more motivation to strive. The most important thing from those meaningful gifts is that the students affirm their ability to reach the pinnacle of knowledge. Many students do not have to drop out of school, many students reach the university gate. Teacher Nguyen also added that when there is a policy, the Department of Education and Training of the district together with the schools make democratic assessments, giving priority to students with special difficulties who have good academic performance and good moral character.

The New Year gifts from the provincial leaders are a great encouragement for poor students to overcome difficulties and continue to strive for higher achievements in their studies, as well as to help their families have more joy and motivation to overcome difficulties in life, to become a solid support for them and together welcome a new year full of luck and warmth./.
