Quynh Luu launches deworming campaign for preschool children

(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing Official Dispatch 1181 of the Central Institute of Malaria, Parasitology and Entomology, on December 4 and 5, the Quynh Luu District Medical Center directed 33 communes and towns to implement a campaign to give deworming medicine to kindergarten students.

According to the plan, in this campaign, 22,005 preschool children aged 25 to 60 months who are studying at preschools or have not yet gone to school in 33 communes and towns will be given free deworming medicine. Each child will be given a special deworming pill ALBENDAZOLE with a content of 400 MG. At the campaign sites, children will be screened before taking the medicine. Previously, the Quynh Luu District Medical Center directed 33 medical stations to notify parents to absolutely feed their children before taking the medicine to ensure their safety.

This is a regular campaign under the Worm Disease Prevention Project jointly implemented by the World Health Organization and the Central Institute of Malaria, Parasitology and Entomology. Through this campaign, Quynh Luu Medical Center also focuses on health education and communication to raise awareness, change attitudes and behaviors of teachers and parents about preventing soil-transmitted helminths and related diseases./.
