Nghe An: 8 days of happy and safe Tet

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of February 22, 2015 (the 4th day of Tet), Nghe An Provincial Police held a conference to review the situation and results of ensuring security and order during the 8 days of the Lunar New Year 2015. Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police chaired the conference. According to the report of the Provincial Police, in the past 8 days, cadres, people and armed forces in the province have happily celebrated Tet and Spring safely; the security and order situation is basically stable, without any passive or unexpected incidents, and no complicated security and order issues have arisen.

To achieve that result, the Party Committee and leaders of Nghe An Provincial Police focused on directing the reinforcement of 276 officers and soldiers, dividing 18 working groups directly to key communes and wards, focusing on ensuring security and order during the Lunar New Year. They proactively grasped the situation and advised the local Party Committee and authorities to effectively resolve emerging security and order issues; deployed security forces to absolutely protect key targets and political and social activities; increased patrols and controls to ensure traffic safety and public order; stepped up attacks and crackdowns on crimes and social evils. Of which, 15/19 cases of social order violations were investigated and clarified, 21 subjects were arrested, money and assets worth about 28 million VND were recovered; 1 case and 1 subject were discovered and arrested for illegal forest product transportation; 9 cases and 60 subjects were gambled, 53 million VND in cash was seized; arrested 7 wanted criminals.

The police force has focused on preventing, detecting and arresting 35 cases, 48 ​​subjects illegally buying, selling, transporting and storing, confiscating 81.4 kg of various types of firecrackers, and mobilizing the handover of 11.2 kg of firecrackers, thus, the situation of illegal firecrackers during Tet this year has decreased significantly compared to previous years. The professional units of the Provincial Police and the police of urban districts have organized 24/24 armed patrols, coordinated with related sectors, especially the Department of Transport, to strengthen the work of ensuring traffic safety and urban order, and to prevent traffic jams. During this period, there were 11 traffic accidents (including 1 railway accident), killing 15 people and injuring 9 people...

Directing the issues to be continued in the coming time, Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department requested the local police units to strengthen the work of grasping and handling the situation on routes, fields, areas, and key subjects; continue to promote the peak period of attacking and sweeping crimes in conjunction with seriously implementing the work plan for the Lunar New Year At Mui, including stepping up patrolling and controlling to ensure traffic safety, public order and urban order.
