(Baonghean) - How many streets in Vinh City have their names that define their appearance, vitality, and development? To give a brief overview, there is Chu Van An Street, with 3 schools located there; Phuong Hoang Street leading to the Phuong Hoang - Trung Do relic complex; Van Thanh Street located next to the ancient Vinh Van Thanh relic... Not outside the association of that street, Ton That Tung Street is also a quite interesting destination...

Ton That Tung Street is one of the inner city routes of Vinh City with easily recognizable characteristics. The road is about 2 kilometers long, each section of the road has different rhythms of life, bustling and bustling at the beginning of the street, suddenly calm and peaceful, then gently smelling the countryside at the end of the road - where along both sides there are still vast fields,...

The street name Ton That Tung is indeed appropriate and fitting with the presence of Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, pharmacies, medical equipment stores as well as private clinics and treatment rooms. Surely, everyone in that street knows the origin and meaning of the street name where they live and do business; and every time I pass by the street, whether it is to stop for breakfast or hang out at a coffee shop to chat, I still cannot help but associate everything in harmony with the street name. That shows that sometimes naming is not simply having something to call, to remember, but also has a heavy meaning of educating and shaping the mindset of the street people, so that they are worthy of that respected title.

The first part of the street is always bustling and crowded until late at night. Nowhere else does the law of "birth - aging - sickness - death" "apply" as accurately as in an area with many hospitals and clinics like this. All kinds of vehicles come and go in front of 19 Ton That Tung Street - where Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital is located, a traffic intersection during peak seasons, causing a lot of disturbance in urban life. Each vehicle is heavily loaded with faces hiding many emotions. I have passed that street many times, regardless of the time, and it is easy to see the scene of worried parents, rushing to carry their children into the hospital gate, with tears, smiles, sadness - joy... spread on the crowded street. Surely the people of the street have also felt their hearts sinking before that colorful and varied rhythm of life like me many times.

Ton That Tung Street is located in the heart of the ancient Yen Dung Thuong area, now in Hung Dung ward. The Yen Dung Thuong place name is rich in spirit, with a history of many vestiges of the Dong Son civilization and is considered a "fence" during the period when Emperor Quang Trung went to Nghe An to build the capital. In the past two decades, along with the general development, the Yen Dung Thuong area has become prosperous, changing color every day. Ton That Tung Street, in the memory of the locals, was a few decades ago rice fields, sugarcane fields, mulberry fields..., now also shines with a new spirit. High-rise buildings are close together, the agricultural area is gradually shrinking, giving way to shops, stores, and bustling trading services. The prime location near Vinh Medical University and a series of public and private hospitals has brought residents of Ton That Tung Street many new business opportunities, including room rental services. Many residents of this town gradually became indifferent, then abandoned their farming businesses to switch to exploiting the abundant demand of students and young families starting their own businesses. Large and small accompanying services such as restaurants, grocery stores, etc. also developed, giving the road leading to the fields, which was once deserted and quiet, a dynamic and modern street.

There are few roads like Ton That Tung Street with its many twists and turns, bearing the imprint of each step of development of a heroic and resilient land. The rhythm of the street is so vibrant at the beginning, suddenly slowing down at the second beat, the intersection with Nguyen Gia Thieu Street and a branch leading to Phong Dinh Cang. There is a Viet Duc restaurant at this corner, but the little bit of crowd coming and going in and out of the shops seems not to overwhelm the peaceful appearance of the street. Further on, there is a deserted stretch stretching out to the fields, reminiscent of the space of decades ago.

Many people still joke with the implicit compliment that Ton That Tung Street, according to feng shui, has a "broadening back" shape. That is, narrow in the front and wide in the back, which can also be understood that tomorrow, the end of the road with this deserted field will develop into a "golden land" of the real estate market. So, without further ado, at the end of the flat asphalt road, before flowing out onto the dirt road to the agricultural residential areas behind, there is the Dong Dau Project Management Board - Housing and apartment project for low-income people. There are clearly several construction works, clearly divided into lots and plots, quietly lying in the quiet of the afternoon fields. Quiet, but not sad, but seemingly patiently waiting for the real estate market to show signs of warming up, this land will change its skin and flesh several times.

Residents of Ton That Tung Street also enjoy many interesting things that residents of other places rarely have. Those are the flights taking off from Vinh airport, whizzing past. In the afternoon, the wind from the fields blows cool, the old people in the street still leisurely pull chairs and sit and chat with each other in front of their houses, occasionally looking up at the endless sky and smiling slightly at the changing times...
