Quynh Long Commune: Lively "Women Skilled in Net Weaving" Competition.

(Baonghean.vn) -To celebrate International Women's Day on March 8th, the first "Women's Skilled Net Weaving Competition" was held in Quynh Long commune (Quynh Luu district) on the morning of March 8th.

Eight teams participated in the competition, each team consisting of two members who are female association members from eight branches in the commune.

The nimble hands demonstrated their skills in the net-weaving competition.

Within 30 minutes, competing teams must weave a self-weaving net with a width of 30 sides. The mesh must be tightly woven, ensuring no gaps or missing sections. The weaving method is 2 outer layers followed by 1 knot. The team that weaves the longest, most even mesh, and tightest knots to ensure a strong net, without violating the competition rules, will win.

A large number of delegates and spectators came to watch and cheer.

At the end of the competition, the organizing committee awarded 1 first prize, 1 second prize, and 3 third prizes.

Through this competition, the aim is to encourage people to compete in labor and production, to revive traditions, customs, and unique aspects of the lives of fishermen in coastal areas. The nets, skillfully crafted by the women, become fishing tools serving the fishermen's fishing activities.
