Mr. Hoi is currently being treated in hospital.

Previously, on the evening of October 19, Mr. Hoi went to catch crabs in the field and encountered a banded krait. He immediately used his hand to catch it and put it in his pocket, but was bitten on the tip of his finger.

After being bitten by a snake, relatives discovered the incident and immediately took Mr. Hoi to a nearby medical station to treat the wound and then transferred him straight to Nghe An General Hospital for emergency treatment.

Patient Hoi was admitted to the hospital with muscle and heart rhythm disorders; quadriplegia; respiratory and joint paralysis, unable to breathe on his own. Immediately after admission, doctors put the patient on a ventilator and then transferred him to the intensive care unit for treatment. “After 10 days of treatment, the patient’s health is currently improving positively but he still needs a ventilator,” said Dr. Lan.
