North-South railway reopens after a day and night of interruption

Dien Sanh Station is located about 5km south of the train accident site that split the dump truck in half. The cleanup work at the scene was also carried out by units at night.
A railway official said that the speed limit for trains passing through the accident site is 5 km/h with guidance. "We continue to repair the section to keep it running at the regulated speed of 70-80 km/h," he said.
Present at the scene, Mr. Nguyen Quan Chinh, Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, said that the province would soon hold a meeting to summarize, learn from the incident and fix the problem.

The strong collision caused 3 train cars to overturn, the locomotive was crushed and severely damaged, train driver Le Minh Phu died in the cabin. Train assistant driver Ho Ngoc Hai, the truck driver, and a number of passengers and staff were injured.
