Previously, at around 8:00 p.m. on March 5, the inspection team discovered this convoy of vehicles traveling on National Highway 7 through Dinh Son Commune (Anh Son District). Immediately after that, the task force asked the drivers to move the vehicles to Do Luong for inspection.
“The inspection force only had 4 brothers, while the truck drivers were mostly Laotian (did not understand the language - PV). The drivers did everything they could to escape the control of the inspection brothers.
It was not until 6am this morning (March 6) that we were able to escort all 11 vehicles to Do Luong district bus station, where they gathered to wait for document and load inspection," said Mr. Chuong.
According to the reporter's observation, the 11 vehicles with Lao license plates mentioned above were all carrying large square logs. The vehicles were covered with tarpaulins. "With the naked eye and many years of experience, we can confirm that these vehicles were all overloaded," said Mr. Phan Huy Chuong.
According to Mr. Chuong, recently, some Vietnamese people have taken advantage of Lao vehicles and drivers to transport wood to Vietnam. Among the drivers of the convoy that was just arrested, some even brought their wives and young children.
Currently, the Department of Transport inspection force is asking drivers to present vehicle and cargo documents, waiting for load inspection for processing.
