(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of March 4, 2015, the Spring Meeting with Investors was solemnly held in Vinh City by the People's Committee of Nghe An province in coordination with BIDV Bank.

The conference was attended by Party and State leaders: Nguyen Sinh Hung - Politburo member - Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Party Central Committee members: Vuong Dinh Hue - Head of the Central Economic Commission, Nguyen The Trung - Deputy Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission, Phan Dinh Trac - Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, Nguyen Xuan Thang - President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, Nguyen Chi Dung - Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment. The conference was also attended by international organizations, leaders of two Lao provinces, Xieng Khouang and Bolikhamxay, leaders of central ministries, departments, branches and neighboring provinces.

Opening the conference, on behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee thanked and warmly welcomed the presence of Party and State leaders and distinguished guests to Nghe An.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee announced the results achieved by the province in the past year. Despite many difficulties, Nghe An has had positive changes and achieved important results in all areas: GDP growth rate reached 7.24%, higher than the growth rate of the last 2 years. GDP per capita reached 27 million VND; Budget revenue reached 7,652 billion VND, equal to 113.7% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council, up 20.7% compared to 2013. The cultural and social fields continued to have many positive changes. Health care, poverty reduction, job creation and social security continued to receive attention; The poverty rate decreased from 13.4% to 10%, people's lives improved; Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam folk songs were honored as representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity. Administrative reform has made progress; National defense - Security and social order and safety are guaranteed.

Investment promotion activities have been paid attention to, strengthened and become more effective, with many events being held continuously inside, outside the province and abroad; with many solutions and channels to call for investment promotion. In particular, after the Politburo issued Resolution 26 on the direction and tasks for the development of Nghe An province until 2020, the Government and the Central Ministries, departments, branches, other provinces, international organizations and many domestic and foreign investors have paid attention, come to learn and survey investment opportunities in Nghe An.

In 2014 alone, the province has newly issued and adjusted investment certificates for 187 projects/55,663 billion VND of registered capital (exceeding 260% in number of projects and 432% in registered capital compared to 2013). Accumulated to date, Nghe An province has 776 valid investment projects, including: 733 domestic investment projects, with 164,937 billion VND and 43 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with 1.61 billion USD. Among them, many large projects using high technology have been put into effective operation, creating many jobs and contributing to the budget.

In the above successes, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong acknowledged the very effective contributions of investors, enterprises and businessmen to Nghe An. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee pledged that the province will truly stand side by side with enterprises and create the most favorable conditions for investors.

Next, on behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee spoke and introduced the basic contents of the project to Adjust the General Planning of Vinh City, Nghe An Province to 2030, with a vision to 2050. According to the approval decision of the Prime Minister, the research area for the development of Vinh City has an area of ​​about 250 km2, the planning scope includes: the entire Vinh City, the entire Cua Lo town and part of Nghi Loc and Hung Nguyen districts. Nghe An Province hopes that through the introduction at this Conference, businesses and investors will have more basis to research and consider when deciding to invest in Nghe An.

The conference heard 6 speeches from 6 major investors who have been investing in the area, sharing their successes as well as their concerns and enthusiasm during the investment process.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Sinh Hung - Politburo member, Chairman of the National Assembly was excited about the results that Nghe An has achieved, and at the same time requested Nghe An to have breakthrough steps of development, sustainable development, creating the most favorable conditions for investors to do business effectively.

In his closing speech at the Conference, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Duc Phoc emphasized: Nghe An province still has a lot of great potential for investment cooperation and development, especially after the Politburo issued Resolution No. 26 on the direction and tasks of developing Nghe An province until 2020, which has opened up the most solid orientations for the socio-economic development of the province, making Nghe An become the central province of the North Central region.

The Provincial Party Secretary affirmed: with new determination and creativity, enterprises and investors will continue to have many successes in production and business, develop strongly, contribute more to society in general and Nghe An province in particular in the coming time, join hands to build Nghe An into a fairly developed province in the Northern region in 2015; by 2020, successfully implement the goals of Resolution 26 - NQ/T.Ư of the Politburo and also fulfill the wishes of President Ho Chi Minh during his lifetime. Nghe An province also hopes to continue to receive the attention of ministries, central branches and the business community.

At this conference, the ceremony of granting investment certificates to 9 projects and signing 9 investment cooperation agreements in Nghe An province with total registered capital of 21,000 billion VND and 123 million USD took place. In addition, at the Conference, the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam and enterprises signed 4 contracts in principle to provide credit for project implementation with capital arrangement of 9,102 billion VND.
