Quynh Nghia: Ceremony to receive the commune meeting the new rural standards and Thuong Temple Festival

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 1, 2015, the 11th day of the first lunar month of the year of the Goat, Quynh Nghia commune, Quynh Luu district solemnly held a ceremony to receive the decision to recognize the commune as meeting new rural standards and organized the Thuong Temple festival in 2015.

Attending the ceremony on the provincial side were comrade Ho Ngoc Sy - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for the New Rural Development Program; on the district side were comrade Le Thanh Nhan - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Council; comrade Dang Ngoc Binh - Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee; representatives of provincial departments and branches, comrades in the District Party Committee Standing Committee, representatives of district departments and branches.

Quynh Nghia commune was recognized as meeting the new rural standards in 2014 according to Decision No. 7588/QD-UBND dated December 31, 2014 of the provincial People's Committee Chairman. From a low starting point, after nearly 4 years, the Party Committee and people of Quynh Nghia have united to successfully implement the national target program on new rural construction. With the motto "a hundred times easier without the people, it is bearable, ten thousand times harder with the people, it is done", Quynh Nghia commune has known how to arouse and promote internal strength, in just the last 4 months of 2014, the whole commune competed to reach the finish line 1 year earlier than planned. Many individuals and collectives are typical in the new rural construction movement such as Nghia Phu village, Nghia Bac village... Many people voluntarily donated land, assets and lent interest-free capital to the commune and hamlets to invest in new rural construction.

The total cost of building a new rural area in Quynh Nghia commune is more than 150 billion VND, of which the commune has asphalted and concreted 13.5 km of commune roads; more than 13 km of village roads; 8.8 km of alley roads and hardened 6.2 km of intra-field roads. The total land area donated by the people is nearly 63,000 m2 of land. The economic growth rate of Quynh Nghia has always maintained an average of 16 - 17%/year, the average income per capita reached 29.3 million VND/year, the number of poor households decreased to 3.5%, the rate of cultural families reached nearly 90%, the rate of families using clean water reached 98%. Up to now, schools in the commune have met national standards. Political security, social order and safety have been ensured and maintained.

At the ceremony, comrade Ho Ngoc Sy - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the province, deputy head of the provincial steering committee for the new rural construction program, awarded the certificate of recognition of the commune meeting the new rural standards in 2014 to Quynh Nghia commune and awarded a bonus of 500 million VND to the commune to build a welfare project. He also awarded certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 3 individuals and 3 groups with outstanding achievements in the new rural construction movement of Quynh Doi commune. On this occasion, Quynh Luu district also awarded certificates of merit and rewards to 2 groups and 6 individuals with great contributions to the new rural construction in the locality.

On this occasion, Quynh Nghia commune also organized the Thuong Xuan Temple Festival of At Mui 2015.
