Vi and Giam were honored by UNESCO as the top 10 music events of 2014.

The Music and Press Club of the Vietnam Musicians Association and the Vietnam Journalists Association have just announced the results of the vote for the 10 most outstanding music events of 2014. Topping the list is the Nghe Tinh Vi-Giam folk song event, which was recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in November 2014.

Next, the Vietnam Musicians Association was awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the State in December 2014. In which, musicians Xuan Hong and Vinh Bao were awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces; Artistic activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory were organized by the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations and the Vietnam Musicians Association, including the performance of the musical Co Sao at the Son La Cultural Center.

Coming in at number 4 is the Asia-Europe New Music Festival, held for the first time in Asia, organized by the Vietnam Musicians Association. The Vietnam Musicians Association became a member of the Asia Pacific Composers Association and registered to host the event for the second time in 2016.

In 5th place is the 2014 National Ca Tru Festival organized by the Institute of Music, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Position 6 is the activities of the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra: the first performance of the monumental symphony work Mount Alps op.64 (R. Strauss) with 140 artists of the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra in the inauguration program of the new concert hall at the Vietnam National Academy of Music on December 12.
