Yen Thanh District People's Committee handles the problem of seriously degraded Yen Dinh bridge

(Baonghean) - Nghe An Newspaper No. 10141 dated February 4, 2015, Hotline Information section posted a report from Duc Thanh commune residents that Yen Dinh bridge is seriously degraded and is at risk of affecting people's lives and property. After inspection and review, on12/2/2015Yen Thanh District People's Committee has Official Dispatch No. 192/UBND-CT Yen Thanh District People's Committee has the following opinion:

- Yen Dinh Bridge in Duc Thanh Commune across the Bac Vach Canal was built in 1978, is an important traffic hub of the communes in the northern part of the district with National Highway 1A. Due to the long time of exploitation combined with the large traffic volume, the bridge is now seriously degraded. Therefore, the people's reflection to Nghe An Newspaper is true to reality.

- State management solutions to ensure traffic safety for Yen Dinh bridge:

+ In response to the current situation of the bridge's operating time, in 2012 the District People's Committee installed load limit signs at both ends of the bridge. However, recently, the high traffic volume has caused the bridge to seriously deteriorate. The District People's Committee has directed the Duc Thanh Commune People's Committee to change the content of the sign from 10-ton load limit to 3 tons and add 2 "weak bridge" signs at both ends of Yen Dinh Bridge.

+ To ensure traffic safety during the Lunar New Year 2015, the District People's Committee has developed Plan No. 1951/KH-UBND dated December 31, 2014 of the Yen Thanh District People's Committee on ensuring traffic order and safety during the 2015 New Year and the 2015 Lunar New Year in Yen Thanh District, including the following content: Arranging guards at weak bridges and key locations on the route. The District People's Committee has issued an Official Dispatch directing the Duc Thanh Commune People's Committee to strictly implement this content.

+ Regarding long-term solutions: The District People's Committee has repeatedly proposed to competent authorities to invest in bridge construction and has received investment policy and project approval from the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 4174/QD.UBND-CN dated19/9/2013However, currently the capital allocated for the project is still limited, the district budget is still facing many difficulties, so the District People's Committee has proposed the Provincial People's Committee to soon allocate capital to invest in construction of the project.
