Launching a photo contest about the environment

This morning (December 8), in Hanoi, the Center for Environmental Training and Communication (General Department of Environment) in collaboration with the Center for Health and Population Initiatives organized the launching ceremony of the Environmental Photography Contest.

According to Mr. Hoang Duong Tung, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Environment, Head of the Organizing Committee, the goal of the Contest is to arouse passion, creativity and select photographic works with profound content and meaning, rich in artistry and symbolism to help people better understand the current state of environmental pollution in Vietnam, thereby contributing to raising public awareness of nature and environmental protection in general, and of photographers in particular.

The theme of the contest is: “Environmental Lens”, aiming at photographic works that show the beauty of nature, the environment of Vietnam, the impact of humans on nature, the current state of environmental pollution in Vietnam and its impact on human life and health. In addition, there are efforts of organizations and individuals to improve the work of environmental protection and sustainable use of resources.

The contest lasts for 04 months, from December 2014 - March 2015 nationwide.

Time to receive works from December 8, 2014 - March 8, 2015 via email:[email protected]. Outstanding works were selected with 01 first prize, 03 second prizes, 05 third prizes and 10 consolation prizes with a total value of up to 40,000,000 million VND and many prizes from sponsors.
