NA Border Guard: 120 million VND to support the program "For ships at sea"

(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of November 22, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in coordination with the Border Guard Command organized the art exchange program "For the ships going to sea".

The program aims to honor and commend military units, localities and businesses that have made practical contributions to helping fishermen go offshore; at the same time, encourage and motivate fishermen to go offshore to produce, affirming the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. The program is one of the meaningful activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 25th anniversary of National Defense Day.

The performance "The Fatherland calls my name" in the program

The program carries the message of love for the Fatherland on the journey to Vietnam's sea and islands, from the silent sacrifices of soldiers on remote islands, the border guards who bravely protected the sovereignty of the sea and islands, and rescued people in distress; to the brave fishermen who are full of patriotism, bravely asserting the sovereignty of the Fatherland through hard work and perseverance at sea... Each person has become a "living milestone" on the homeland's sea.

The program also contributes to encouraging businesses, philanthropists, social organizations, and local authorities to pay more attention and join hands to support fishermen so that fishermen can confidently stay at sea day and night, firmly maintain the sovereignty of the homeland's sea and islands, so that each ship going out to sea is a solid milestone at sea.

At the meeting, the Organizing Committee announced that it had received over 28 billion VND in support of outstanding fishermen. Of which, the officers and soldiers of the Border Guard of Nghe An province contributed 120 million VND to support the program. It is expected that the Organizing Committee will present 1,300 gifts to outstanding fishermen in difficult circumstances in the first phase on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2014).
