The initiator of high-end resort tourism in Nghe An

(Baonghean) - The desire to build a high-class resort and turn the deserted Nghi Yen and Nghi Tien (Nghi Loc) beaches into a highlight on the Vietnamese tourism map is what Mr. Nguyen Trong Doan, an overseas Vietnamese in the US, and his friends set out to do when building Bai Lu Tourist Area. After 6 years, the project has proven effective by attracting thousands of tourists each year and creating jobs for nearly 200 local workers...

Until now, Mr. Nguyen Trong Doan and Mr. Hoang Quoc Truyen, the initiators of Bai Lu Tourist Area, still talk a lot about the "fate" of meeting each other. Because, if they had not coincidentally joined the same tour, if they had not heard the "heavy" Nghe accent with the "such and such" and recognized each other as fellow Nghe Tinh natives, the two would never have known each other. Then, in a foreign land, one of them, an American Vietnamese, expressed his desire to contribute a little bit of his love to his homeland, the other, who already had a construction job, discussed a future tourism project. A month later, regardless of the long distance, Mr. Nguyen Trong Doan himself returned to Nghe An and the two spent more than a week wandering around the scenic spots of Nghe An such as Giang Son hot spring, Quynh Phuong beach, Dien Thanh to find investment locations. Then, introduced by the then provincial Chairman, Mr. Le Doan Hop, both of them went to Bai Lu beach, located in the territory of Nghi Yen and Nghi Tien communes of Nghi Loc district.

Intoxicated by the legendary story of Bai Lu about a lovesick traveler who loved to travel the world, because of the mermaid's singing voice, he came here and stood there absent-mindedly at sea, transformed into Lu mountain and fell in love with the wildness, the scenery of the mountains, the forest, the sea..., both of them took less than an hour to decide to choose Bai Lu as a stopover, to build a high-class eco-resort.

In 2005, when the project began to be implemented, the province also implemented a policy to attract investment. At that time, although the unit had to "march and queue", the province always created favorable conditions for the unit to help. In particular, the province opened a road from National Highway 1A to the project site to facilitate the unit's transportation of materials during the construction process, and to create a premise for the project to come into operation later. After nearly 3 years of urgent implementation, in May 2006, Bai Lu Resort Eco-tourism Area was officially opened and put into operation on a total area of ​​15.7 hectares with a resort with 79 rooms, 2 hillside villas with 63 rooms, a 300-seat restaurant... meeting international standards.

This is the first high-end resort built in Nghe An with a scale and design following the tourism model of developed countries in the world along with high-end entertainment services and spiritual tourism areas... However, because it is a completely new type, the service price is much higher than normal hotels, so in the first days of operation, the unit encountered many difficulties. Even so, determined to be a "pioneer", and at the same time believing in the advantages that only exist in Bai Lu, the company's board of directors has built many attractive tourism programs. In addition, focusing on propaganda, promotion, and service care to introduce to domestic and international tourists. The unit also invests in improving the environmental landscape, linking tourism with cultural and spiritual activities with regional identity, so it is highly appreciated by many tourists and is always chosen as an interesting destination. In just the second year of operation, Bai Lu has become a popular destination. It is also known as “paradise on the sea” because of its pleasant climate all year round, beautiful scenery and still retains many charming natural wild features.

Bai Lu tourist area came into operation in phase 1 with many unexpected successes, creating more motivation for many other investors to want to continue to implement phase 2. And by chance, the investors interested in Bai Lu, most of them are overseas Vietnamese. Ms. Nguyen Thi Phu - General Director of Bai Lu Investment and Business Joint Stock Company, herself highly appreciates the heart and enthusiasm of those who are far from home. Because according to her, "Overseas Vietnamese who return to invest in their homeland do not put profit first, but mostly want to contribute a small part of their efforts to their "homeland". Therefore, they are determined to do it thoroughly. In particular, they are not afraid of difficulties and always seek new things, new directions".

As if by “fate”, after businessman Nguyen Trong Doan returned to his hometown and successfully invested, he and other overseas Vietnamese friends collaborated to build many new projects. These include the Saigon Eye Hospital, the Obstetrics Hospital (Vinh City) and Cua Lo Golf Course. This result also shows the efforts of the province in recent years to attract investment, affirming the trust of overseas Vietnamese who are always wholeheartedly devoted to their homeland.
