(Baonghean) - Tet holiday is the time to "kick off" the annual "learning promotion emulation" movement. Many meaningful programs have been organized to support and help poor students, studious students and university students. This is a meaningful movement, imbued with humanity with the nation's tradition of "mutual love and support"...

On the first day of Spring, we went with teacher Pham Huy Duc (retired) to Ba Ngoc Secondary School, Quynh Luu District to present scholarships to poor and studious students of the school. This is the 6th year that this Scholarship Fund has been awarded, however, up to this point the owner of the fund has not been revealed. We only know that the person who donated the fund to poor students is an ordinary civil servant working in Ho Chi Minh City. He voluntarily spends 10-20 million VND each year from his salary to give to studious students with a wish: to help them have more motivation and a small amount of money to buy books and clothes for school.

Up to now, Quynh Ba has nearly 50 people who are associate professors, doctors, masters, and each year, 70-100 students pass the entrance exams to universities and colleges. To achieve this result, Mr. Truong Quang Hang, Chairman of the Commune's Association for Promoting Education, said: In addition to the efforts of each family and individual, there is the care of the locality, departments, and branches for education work.

Currently, each year, through regular mobilization and contributions, the commune's Education Promotion Fund collects more than 200 million VND; 35/35 clans in the commune have their own education promotion fund. Every year at the beginning of Spring, clans organize awards and scholarships for students with excellent achievements and students admitted to universities and colleges. In particular, to encourage learning, all families in the commune raise pigs for education through their daily savings. At the end of the year, households slaughter their savings pigs. That money is used to buy books and clothes for children, to encourage children and grandchildren after a year of hard study.

Particularly on the occasion of the Lunar New Year this year, in addition to regular activities such as meetings, giving gifts to students, and organizing the first writing of the Spring, the Association for Promotion of Education also coordinated with the Youth Union to cook banh chung to support poor students, families with meritorious services, and families in difficult circumstances...

Also on New Year's Eve and the morning of the first day of the Lunar New Year, nearly 50,000 families of more than 1,400 clans in Quynh Luu district gave gifts to encourage learning to their children. Many families held a solemn and highly educational Spring writing ceremony.

Every year, when Tet comes, Spring comes, the Truong Cong family (Do Luong) organizes the "Tet for Encouragement of Learning" to encourage children and grandchildren to make efforts to take care of the family affairs to be worthy of their ancestors and repay the kindness of their parents and teachers. To have a large and stable fund for encouraging learning, in addition to the support of successful children, they also mobilize children and grandchildren to support each person from 50,000 to 100,000 VND per year. In particular, the whole family has agreed on a regulation on the management and use of the family's Fund for Encouragement of Learning with specific and realistic content. In addition to regular rewards for children who study well and achieve high scores, the family's Fund for Encouragement of Learning also has a policy to encourage children to study further. This includes scholarships of 10 million VND/person for children studying for a master's degree and 20 million VND/person for children studying for a doctorate.

Do Luong district determines that investing in education is investing in the future, so the work of encouraging learning, encouraging talents, and building a learning society is thoroughly understood by the people. In addition, promoting emulation movements to encourage learning, building studious families and clans that encourage learning.

Through the movements of "Tet Encourage Learning" and "Month Encourage Learning", the Association for Encourage Learning in Do Luong district and its grassroots have promoted activities to build a Fund for Encourage Learning with many diverse and rich forms. The Fund for Encourage Learning is built from families, clans, neighborhoods, and fellow countrymen's associations... From 2011 to now, the whole district has mobilized more than 11.2 billion VND, of which the amount mobilized during the "Tet Encourage Learning" is 2.1 billion VND and the annual "Month Encourage Learning" mobilizes 1.7 billion VND; rewarding thousands of excellent students, excellent teachers and granting scholarships to students with difficult circumstances to strive to study. In addition, the district also has a resolution to mobilize the fund building by contributions from local workers and civil servants, each person one day's salary, to the District Fund for Encourage Learning. Retired cadres and communal civil servants donated 1 day's salary to the Basic Education Promotion Fund, each household donated 10,000 - 20,000 VND to the Hamlet Education Promotion Fund, each family in the clan donated 30,000 - 50,000 VND per year and organized effective management and use, which was highly appreciated by members and people. Currently, the whole district has 34,500 studious families; 860 clans promoting education and thousands of cadres and members achieving the title of promoting education.

Tet Encouragement of Learning has become a beautiful feature of early Spring in many families, localities and units throughout the province. The meaningful purpose of this movement, in addition to mobilizing social resources, the attention of the community, all levels and sectors to support students, timely help for poor students in difficult circumstances, is also a moral to continue the tradition of "mutual love and affection" of the nation.

Tet Encouragement of Learning 2015 was implemented with many contents such as calling on units, individuals, and organizations to take care of Tet for poor students. Continuing to maintain, develop, and improve the quality of emulation movements for studious families, clans that encourage learning, and communities that encourage learning. Actively mobilizing to build the Fund for Encouragement of Learning at all levels of associations, agencies, units, clans, and hometown associations... to support the Fund for Encouragement of Learning. Organizing to award scholarships to poor students who overcome difficulties; rewarding students who are good at culture, good at profession, and talented in various fields; encouraging, supporting, and helping teachers overcome difficulties.

Promote specific movements such as "Drums to encourage learning", "Chickens, banana gardens, piggy banks to encourage learning" at the Associations to Encourage Learning at the commune, ward, and town levels; Associations to Encourage Learning in blocks, hamlets, and villages. Maintain learning habits for students; contribute to reducing unhealthy activities and social evils, especially during the Lunar New Year. With an average of over 43 billion VND mobilized each year for the Fund to Encourage Learning and over 31,000 poor students who have overcome difficulties to rise up and been awarded, it shows that the Fund to Encourage Learning in general and Tet to Encourage Learning in particular have been truly meaningful and have made an important contribution to promoting learning in the province. It also demonstrates the beauty and humane morality of the Vietnamese people, the humane morality of the Nghe An countryside with a rich tradition of studiousness.
