(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of March 10, the 20th day of the first lunar month of the year of the Goat, in Quynh Phuong ward, Hoang Mai town, the opening ceremony of Con temple festival and the opening of Hoang Mai tourism in 2015 was solemnly held. Attending the festival, on the Central side, there was Professor of History Le Van Lan; on the provincial side, there was comrade Hoang Trong Kim - Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Construction and leaders of Quynh Luu, Con Cuong, Quy Hop districts, Hoang Mai town... and tourists from all over.

As a tradition, every January 20th and 21st of the lunar calendar, Con Temple officially opens its festival. On the opening night of the festival, the performances by actors from the local areas and the QK4 art troupe brought to the festival an exciting, joyful and grand atmosphere. The performances all expressed the love for the homeland, the songs and dances spoke about the customs of the coastal people, and especially the drum performance was very special. After the performance, comrade Nguyen Huu Tuy - Chairman of Hoang Mai Town People's Committee beat the drum to open the festival and the Hoang Mai tourism season 2015.

On January 20, the festival has activities such as volleyball, human chess, stick pushing, and a bird singing contest; and a proclamation ceremony at Trong Temple. On the morning of January 21, a procession will be held on land combined with 8 boats on water. The palanquin procession from Con Trong Temple will follow the traditional festival route to the sea; a fishing ceremony will be held on the southern coast, bordering Quynh Lien commune; a joint ceremony will be held at Ngoai Temple and a boat race will be organized on Mai Giang River.

Con Temple Festival is one of the oldest festivals in Nghe An. This is a meaningful event to preserve and promote traditional cultural values, the nation's morality of "remembering the source of water when drinking", and at the same time is an opportunity for Hoang Mai to promote the tourism potential and the beauty and culture of the homeland and the people of the town to the general public and tourists.
On this occasion, Hoang Mai town also organized the opening ceremony of the 2015 beach tourism season./.
