Not long after receiving the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize this year, Malala continued to be awarded the World Children's Prize with an amount of up to 50 thousand USD (about 1.2 billion VND).

The 17-year-old girl decided to use this prize to support the United Nations to rebuild previously destroyed schools in the Gaza Strip, creating conditions for children there to continue studying.

“Building schools is an urgent need in Gaza because more than half of the population there is under 18 years old. They all want and deserve a good education for a better future,” Malala said.

It is known that the money Malala donated will be used to build and repair 83 severely damaged schools in the Gaza Strip.

“Innocent children have suffered terribly for too long. We must all come together to provide these children with a safe learning environment. Because without education, there is no peace. Let's stand shoulder to shoulder on the path of building education and peace. Together, we are much stronger,” the young girl called out after donating money.

In response to Malala's humanitarian work, Mr. Pierre Krähenbühl, head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), gave her the best compliments: “We share with you the deep belief in the importance of education. It is the way to help children escape isolation and oppression. You have become a symbol of the strength and limitless potential that every child on this earth possesses. You inspire all of them. Thank you very much.”
