Thanh Chuong: Gang of motorcycle thieves dismantled.

(Baonghean.vn) - The Thanh Chuong District Police have just issued a decision to prosecute six individuals for theft and receiving stolen property.

Between the end of 2013 and 2014, a series of motorcycle thefts occurred along National Highway 46 in Thanh Chuong district. This caused great anxiety among the local population. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, the Thanh Chuong District Police established a special task force to investigate the matter.

After a period of investigation, at 10 PM on December 16, 2014, following information from residents about an attempted motorcycle theft that had just occurred at Mr. Dung's wedding in Hamlet 1, Thanh Tuong Commune, the special task force identified two individuals involved in the incident: Luu Van Hiep (born in 1994) and Nguyen Van Duc Luong (born in 1998), both residing in Hamlet 5, Thanh Tuong Commune. Immediately afterward, the District Police urgently summoned Hiep (Luong was not summoned due to being underage). During questioning, the suspect confessed that between 2013 and 2014, Hiep and his accomplices committed seven thefts along National Highway 46. Hiep's accomplices were identified as: Nguyen Gia Hau (born 1995), Nguyen Gia Giap (born 1994), both residing in Hamlet 5, Thanh Tuong Commune, and Le Dinh Cong (born 1994), residing in Hamlet 2, Thanh Van Commune. According to the investigation, the suspects' main method was using T-shaped lock-picking tools to break locks, then transporting the stolen vehicles to Ky Son District for sale.

Expanding the investigation, the police identified the person directly involved in purchasing and selling the stolen motorcycles as Ho Ba Lu (born in 1984), residing in Huoi Khe village, Huoi Tu commune, Ky Son district. At the police station, Lu confessed that after buying the motorcycles from the suspects, he took them across the border to sell to people in Laos.

Currently, the Thanh Chuong District Police are continuing to expand their investigation into the case.
