Nationwide, 50 out of 63 provinces and cities have achieved a vaccination rate of over 95%, while other localities are implementing and synthesizing reports after the end of the first phase.
According to the Ministry of Health, up to now, many children have had to postpone vaccination. The main reason is that children have health problems related to weather changes during the changing seasons.
Currently, localities are carrying out "catch-up" vaccinations for children who have postponed vaccinations in the past.
To ensure the goal of the measles-rubella vaccination campaign is achieved, the Department of Preventive Medicine requires health units to coordinate with the education sector and relevant units to review the vaccination target, avoid omissions, and organize "catch-up" vaccination for children who have postponed vaccination. In particular, localities must ensure that they have enough vaccines for children and organize safe vaccination.
A large-scale free measles-rubella combined vaccination campaign for about 23 million children aged 1-14 years.
The campaign was conducted nationwide from the fourth quarter of 2014 to the second quarter of 2015, sponsored by the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI).
