At the meeting, comrade Ho Duc Phoc happily reported on Nghe An's achievements in the past year. In 2014, socio-economic, national defense and security and foreign affairs achieved many successes, the year with the highest results in recent years, with 25/27 targets completed and exceeded the plan. The growth rate is estimated at 7.24% (higher than the last 2 years). Food output reached 1.203 million tons, the highest ever. Foreign affairs and investment promotion were renewed. During the year, new investment certificates were granted and adjusted for 127 projects, with a total investment capital of more than 27,000 billion VND. The new rural construction program was implemented effectively, achieving an average of 11.3 new rural criteria/commune; by the end of 2014, 33 communes had been recognized as meeting new rural standards. The socio-cultural field continues to have many changes: The quality of education is stable, the health sector has new developments, especially the Nghe Tinh Vi-Giam folk song is recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. National defense and security are maintained, social order and safety are guaranteed.
