Missing AirAsia plane: 7 more bodies found

According to AFP news agency (France) on January 2, Indonesian rescue forces have narrowed the search area for the missing AirAsia flight QZ8501 after recovering 7 more bodies and many pieces of debris from the sea.

French and Singaporean investigators with black box signal detection equipment are expected to join the search.

Earlier on December 31, the head of Indonesia's search and rescue force, Bambang Soelistyo, said the search operation would focus on an area of ​​13,500 square kilometers with the participation of 29 ships and 17 aircraft.

This campaign will focus on two main tasks: locating the fuselage and searching for the black box.

AirAsia's Airbus A320-200, flight number QZ8501, carrying 162 passengers and crew, crashed into the Java Sea, Indonesia, while en route from Surabaya to Singapore on the morning of December 28.

The passengers on the flight included 149 Indonesians, three South Koreans, one Singaporean, one Malaysian and one British national. The crew included six Indonesians and one Frenchman.

Up to this point, a total of 16 bodies have been recovered./.
