No one is irreplaceable!
(Baonghean) - In recent friendly matches and practice matches, Coach Miura often changes and shuffles the lineup of the U23 Vietnam players. The Japanese coach has put the players he has on the field at different times. The most anticipated player of HAGL, striker Cong Phuong, was only put on from the second half. The same goes for other "stars". For Coach Miura, before each match, no one knows for sure when they will be on the field.

Many people think that Mr. Miura is trying to experiment, assembling players from different training centers to find a perfect squad that can adapt to new positions in the team he leads. But until now, no one has been able to imagine the main frame of the U23! This stems from Mr. Miura's coaching perspective of not making anyone feel that he is an important person, that he has a guaranteed position, that he cannot be replaced, so that the players must always strive and show all their talents. This is completely different from the coaching style of some previous coaches of the Vietnam team, who only focus on choosing the "most reliable" players to form a solid frame.
There are even coaches who, after many years of returning to Vietnam, do not rush to find and discover young, potential players, but call back veterans, even those who have "retired" like Vu Cong Tuyen of the former The Cong team. This has eliminated the motivation of young players - reserve players, causing that when one of the main players is injured or loses form, it is impossible to find a replacement, or if there is a replacement, it is "a world apart". That is also one of the reasons why the deeper the Vietnamese team goes into the tournaments, the most worrying thing is that the squad is broken, there is no worthy replacement. Our teams have also fallen many times before the "gates of heaven" at the SEA Games and AFF Cup when having to send "wounded soldiers" to fight with opponents at decisive moments.
Explaining his recent personnel arrangements, Mr. Miura said: "The teams in the same group with Olympic Vietnam in the U23 Asian qualifiers, Japan, Malaysia, and Macau, have different playing styles, so we have to prepare carefully from tactics to personnel to select players suitable for the strategy when facing each opponent." Also according to Coach Miura: when entering the tournament, if a player in the squad is injured or has a penalty card, there will be a perfect replacement through testing from friendly matches. Therefore, players need to know how to integrate, even when playing in a position other than their best.
With the philosophy: No one is irreplaceable! Hopefully, in the near future, Coach Miura will look for players in the U23 team to have a squad that can "dance to any music" and will not be afraid of any opponent. Let's wait and see!
