Lampard – The Great Traitor
When Lampard tore apart Chelsea's net in round 5, The Blues fans still had a lot of respect for him. But now, Chelsea fans are starting to hate this great traitor.
1.In England, it is rare for a player who was once an icon of one club to move to play for his old team’s fiercest rival. The most typical examples are the cases of Man United and Liverpool.
The rivalry for titles, reputation and even the nickname Red Devils between these two giants makes no player brave enough to change his residence from the red of Manchester to the red of Merseyside.
Since 1964 until now, exactly after Man United sold Phil Chisnall to Liverpool for 25,000 pounds, there have been no more transfers between these two teams.
Surely fans still remember, before defender Gabriel Heinze moved to play for Real Madrid, he asked Man United to allow him to wear Liverpool's shirt.
The Red Devils' board of directors was furious, immediately benched the defender and then sold him to Real.
2.Chelsea and Man City are not a pair filled with hatred in the Premier League.
According to Wikipedia's definition, the concept of "rivalry" is only reserved for typical matches such as: Man United - Liverpool, Man United - Arsenal, Chelsea - Tottenham, Arsenal - Chelsea...
Because the competition between these two clubs is not too fierce, when Lampard - a former Chelsea icon - scored against the team that made him a legend in the 5th round of the PL this season, The Blues fans still shouted Lampard's name.

Lampard scored both goals against Chelsea for Man City |
There were no boos, and no pig's head was thrown onto the field like the way Barcelona fans welcomed traitor Luis Figo years ago.
But that sentiment is now certainly gone. It has begun to steadily decline as Lampard has repeatedly rescued City from a draw.
From the only goal in the match against Leicester in round 16 to the header that brought Man City a 3-2 victory over Sunderland last night, Lampard brought Man City closer to Chelsea than at any other time this season.
3.The feud between the two clubs is often created by a long-standing rivalry over a period of history. But the appearance of Lampard has started to make the British press talk more about the feud between Chelsea and Man City.
Football.co.uk created a topic yesterday: The modern Rivalry between Chelsea and Manchester City.

He is the locomotive pulling Man City closer to The Blues. |
When Chelsea let Lampard go, they thought his time was up. He went to America to follow David Beckham's path, becoming a showbiz star instead of a football player.
Even when Lampard unexpectedly returned to the Premier League to play for Man City, Chelsea did not have any special reaction.
It was just a loan deal. Some Blues fans even laughed at the stupidity of Man City. Lampard was too old.
But who would have thought that the character who returned to the Premier League amid those mocking laughter would steer this season in a more dramatic direction.
The path that his (former) Chelsea is on is on the path of a loser and he is the one who pushed The Blues to that bitter destination.
After this season ends, regardless of whether Man City wins the championship or not, the name Frank Lampard will now become the greatest traitor in Premier League history.
Because he not only created turning points for Man City, but also formed a new feud in the Premier League.
