Authorities arrested a suspect transporting nearly 1kg of methamphetamine.

(Baonghean.vn) - Through armed patrols, the Police Protection and Mobile Unit of Nghe An Provincial Police recently arrested a suspect transporting nearly 1kg of methamphetamine for sale.

A patrol team from the Police Protection and Mobile Unit of Nghe An Provincial Police, while on duty in Ben Thuy ward, Vinh City, spotted a suspicious individual in a taxi and signaled the vehicle to stop for an administrative check.

As the vehicle stopped, the suspect opened the door and fled for about 40 meters before being apprehended by the patrol force. A search of the suspect's bag revealed a plastic-wrapped package containing a substance resembling methamphetamine. The suspect and the seized evidence were immediately taken to the Police Protection and Mobile Unit headquarters for further investigation. Initially, the police identified the suspect as Truong Manh Hung, born in 1989, residing in Block 5, Quy Hop town, who was transporting 913.07g of methamphetamine to Ho Chi Minh City for sale when he was arrested.

Authorities are currently expanding their investigation into the case.
