On the morning of November 2, speaking with reporters, Dr. Le Duc Nhan, Deputy Director of Da Nang Hospital, the doctor who directly examined and monitored the patient suspected of being infected with Ebola CVC, said that the patient's condition is gradually recovering.

Patient C. was isolated and treated very strictly.

After testing positive for malaria, doctors at Da Nang Hospital established an initial malaria treatment regimen, so the fever of 40.5 degrees was reduced to over 38 degrees, and the patient became much more alert.

The quarantine area is still being tightened very strictly by Da Nang Hospital. The front of the quarantine area is also completely secured until the final results are available.

Previously, when admitted to the hospital on November 1, the relatives who accompanied the patient reported that he had a fever 2 days before, but Mr. C. said that he had had a fever for 5 days. "According to the test results with malaria parasites 5+, it is more reasonable that the patient had a fever for 5 days," Dr. Nhan explained.

Regarding the patient returning from an epidemic area, showing signs of fever, undergoing medical examination at Tan Son Nhat Airport (HCMC), but medical staff did not detect or implement isolation measures, Ms. Ngo Thi Kim Yen, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Health explained: "Because patient C. had intermittent fever symptoms, it is possible that he did not develop a fever when passing through the examination area."

Also according to Dr. Ngo Thi Kim Yen, it is expected that at 10:00 a.m. on November 2, the Ebola virus test results of patient C. will be available and widely announced.
