(Baonghean.vn) - At Con Phen village school, the main campus of Huu Khuong Primary School (Tuong Duong), there are 18 students who come here to "study for free", having to set up tents next to the stream to stay and study.
Huu Khuong Commune is located in the middle of Ban Ve Hydroelectric Reservoir, the terrain is fragmented, the main means of transportation is motorboat. The students who have to set up tents to stay are children of people from villages that are to be relocated to the resettlement area in Thanh Chuong such as Cha Coong, Xop Lam, Kim Hong, Nhan Nhinh, Nhan Mai and Nhan Pa. Because their parents refuse to relocate to the resettlement area, or have relocated to the resettlement area but returned to their hometown to work, the children do not have a school to study, so some parents from the above villages have to send their children to study at Con Phen school - Huu Khuong Primary School - Tuong Duong district.
The children live far from school so they have to stay in temporary tents to study. During the week, their parents take them by boat and pick them up on the weekend. Although they are young, they have to be independent, from cooking, washing clothes to studying.
