"Vietnam Sea and Island Culture and Tourism Week - Hanoi 2014" will be held at the Vietnam Exhibition Center for Culture and Arts from November 21 to November 24, 2014.

“Vietnam Sea and Island Culture and Tourism Week - Hanoi 2014” aims to introduce, promote and honor the unique cultural values ​​of Vietnam's sea and island regions, affirm the potential of sea and island tourism, call for investment attraction, and create momentum for economic, cultural and social development for provinces/cities with sea and islands.

As planned, the activities of the “Vietnam Sea and Island Culture and Tourism Week - Hanoi 2014” include: Exhibition “Impressions of Vietnamese sea and island culture and tourism”; Art program “Honoring the culture of Vietnam’s sea and island regions”; Workshop “Preserving and promoting the cultural values ​​of Vietnam’s sea and island regions”; Cultural and artistic exchange program for students with the theme “Youth with Vietnam’s sea and island culture”; Displaying and introducing typical cultural, tourism and culinary products of the sea and island regions...

The program has the participation of many units such as the Ministry of Education and Training; Coast Guard Command; Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Institute of Oceanography and Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of 15 provinces and cities...

Marine economy, including marine tourism activities, is being identified by the Party and State as one of the important orientations contributing to promoting the country's economic development as well as protecting national sovereignty.

With a coastline of over 3,260km, more than 2,773 coastal islands and a series of beautiful beaches, these are advantages promoting the development of Vietnam's sea and island tourism.

To exploit the potential and strengths of Vietnam's sea and island tourism, the Government has approved the project to develop Vietnam's tourism with a vision to 2030, including a strategy to promote the development of sea and island tourism and breakthrough directions in the coming years.
