Injury storm ravages Vietnam Olympics, Miura calls up three more players

Losing nearly a third of his team due to injury, coach Toshiya Miura had to call up Van Thanh, Van Long and Duc Huy for the Vietnam Olympic team.

"Coach Miura has just called up additional personnel for the Vietnam Olympic team. The three new personnel are Van Long of SHB Da Nang, Van Thanh of HAGL and Duc Huy of Hanoi T&T," VFF Vice President Tran Quoc Tuan told VnExpress this morning, March 16.

The reason why Coach Miura called up more players is because of the storm of injuries in the national team. Nearly a third of Coach Miura's players who are gathering this time are injured, including many prominent names such as Xuan Truong, Tuan Tai, Phuc Tinh...

The Vietnamese Olympic team is currently training in Binh Duong to get used to the hot climate, similar to Malaysia, where coach Miura and his team will compete in the U23 Asian qualifiers. It is expected that on March 18, the Japanese strategist will finalize the list of 23 players for the tournament.

On March 20, the Vietnam Olympic team will go to Thailand to play a friendly match with the team led by Coach Kiatisuk two days later. This will be the last friendly match of Coach Miura and his team.

On March 23, the team will travel to Malaysia to participate in the U23 Asian qualifiers. Vietnam Olympic will face Malaysia Olympic in the opening match on March 27. Two days later, the team will play Macau, before facing Japan Olympic on March 31.
