Day 4 of the 2015 Ton Hoa Sen National U19 Cup Finals

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of March 15th, the second round of matches in Group A of the National U19 Championship took place. At Vinh Stadium, the two teams without points, TT Hue and Binh Duong, clashed; at Military Region 4 Stadium, Viettel and Long An battled for the first qualifying spot. Viettel secured their place in the next round one match early, while TT Hue was eliminated after failing to earn any points in their two matches.

Returning to the match at Vinh Stadium, it was a game where neither TT Hue nor B. Binh Duong could afford to lose, as they had both failed to score any points in the first round, making the match very tense and exciting.

The first half ended with a 1-0 lead for the team from the ancient capital, thanks to a goal by Nguyen Van Phong (12 - Thua Thien Hue) who successfully tapped the ball in from a well-executed counter-attack. However, the turning point of the match, which caused frustration among the Thua Thien Hue players and coaching staff, came from a disallowed goal in the 60th minute. From an attack down the left wing, midfielder Dinh Quy brought the ball close to the end line and crossed it into the box for striker Thien An to tap it into the net. However, the referees disallowed the goal, ruling that Thien An was offside.

Having narrowly avoided conceding a goal, just a few minutes later, B.Binh Duong were fortunate to receive assistance from referee Lam Hoa Say in scoring the equalizer. From a powerful cross from the wing into the penalty area, a Thua Thien Hue defender misjudged the ball, resulting in a shot towards his own goal. Goalkeeper Le Van Tan (1 - Thua Thien Hue) had to make a save, but referee Lam Hoa Say blew the whistle for a foul, awarding B.Binh Duong an indirect free kick. From this situation, Nguyen Tien Linh (11 B.Binh Duong) scored for his team. Following this, the entire Thua Thien Hue team became dejected and gave up. As a result, striker Nguyen Tien Linh easily scored three more goals to seal a 4-1 victory for B.Binh Duong. With 4 goals scored in yesterday's match, Nguyen Van Linh (11 B.Binh Duong) is currently leading the scoring charts in this year's final round.

At the end of the match, the coaching staff of the TT Hue team expressed their dissatisfaction with the refereeing at the final tournament.

On the same day, at the Military Region 4 stadium, Viettel and Long An played a back-and-forth match. At the end of the first half, Coach Nguyen Hong Son's team led by two goals. In the second half, Long An players fought back strongly, scoring two goals to equalize. However, they failed to maintain their lead, conceding a goal in injury time to secure a 3-2 victory for Viettel.

With the results of the second round of matches in Group A, U19 Viettel became the first team to secure a place in the next round after two consecutive wins, while Thua Thien Hue was eliminated early after two matches without any points. The remaining spot will be decided after the match between Long An and B.Binh Duong on the afternoon of March 17th.

On the afternoon of March 16th, the final round of matches in Group B will take place. At Vinh Stadium, it will be a "final" match for the remaining qualifying spot between the home team SLNA and VPF, while at the Military Region 4 Stadium, it will be a formality match between HN T&T and Ho Chi Minh City.
