IS publishes the identities of 100 US soldiers to be killed on the Internet
On March 21, Reuters quoted an unnamed US defense official as saying that the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) group posted online what it said were the names, addresses in the US and photos of 100 US soldiers, calling on "brothers living in America" to kill them.

The Pentagon said it was investigating the incident after the information was posted on the Internet.
In the posted information, a group calling itself the "IS Hacker Unit" claimed to have hacked into many US military servers, databases and military emails, publicly releasing information of 100 US military members so that "lone wolf" attackers could kill them.
According to the New York Times, it seems that this information was not stolen from the US Government's servers and quoted an anonymous Defense Department official as saying that most of the information can be found in public records, home address search sites and social networks./
