The Japanese coach is trying to find a way to reconcile the playing styles of the senior national team and the U19 team.

Coach Guillaume Graechen, affectionately known as "Coach Giom," will not continue his journey with the U19 players such as Cong Phuong, Tuan Anh, and Xuan Truong… His replacement is Coach Miura, who began his new role on January 4, 2015.

In 2015, Coach Miura's most important task was to lead the Vietnam U23 team to the SEA Games in Singapore in June. The formula the 51-year-old coach chose to build the U23 team included members eligible for the SEA Games from the Vietnam national team that had just participated in the AFF Cup, and some of the best players from the U19 team. Thus, the core group consisted of Hong Quan, Ngoc Hai, Hoang Thinh, Huy Toan, Thanh Hien, Huy Hung from the AFF Cup, supplemented by Cong Phuong, Tuan Anh, Xuan Truong, Van Toan, and Dong Trieu from the U19 team.

On this new journey, Cong Phuong and his teammates from the U19 team and the academy will work with Coach Miura. According to the contract signed with the VFF, the Japanese coach's nhiệm vụ is to lead both the national team and the U23 team. Coach Miura is trying to find a way to harmonize the playing styles of these two teams. It is likely that he will adopt the playing style of the U19 team, which Coach Giom has been implementing for over a year, while also making adjustments such as playing more simply and effectively.

Coach Giom is focusing on his new job, his first time directly managing a V-League team. The 2015 season, under the French coach, promises to be very difficult for HAGL due to fierce competition from the other teams. The goal of the mountain town club is to avoid relegation, and even if they get relegated, "I'd be happy" (according to Chairman Duc).

At the end of March 2015, the Vietnam U23 team made their debut in the U23 Asian Championship qualifiers held in Malaysia. Following this tournament, the team prepared for the SEA Games in Singapore. The Southeast Asian Games took place in June instead of November-December as previously planned.

This morning, Coach Miura held a meeting with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) to analyze the Vietnamese national team's journey, especially the loss against Malaysia. Afterwards, he returned to Japan with his family (wife and two children, aged 9 and 4) to celebrate Christmas and New Year. In early January 2015, when the V-League begins, he will return to Vietnam to take on a new assignment.
