Con Cuong District Ethnic Groups' Cultural and Sports Festival

(Baonghean.vn) - To commemorate the 84th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the 69th anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day, and in anticipation of major national holidays, on March 26, 2015, Con Cuong district organized the 23rd Ethnic Groups' Cultural and Sports Festival.

Thirty-four teams from communes, towns, and agencies/units in the area participated. This was an opportunity for people of all ethnic groups in Con Cuong district to strengthen their interactions, solidify community solidarity, and contribute to building a prosperous and beautiful homeland. It was also an opportunity to preserve and promote cultural identity, improve health, stimulate cultural and artistic activities, and enhance the spiritual life of all segments of the population.

The festival program includes folk art performances, ethnic costume shows, volleyball and badminton competitions, and traditional sports and games (throwing the ball, stick pushing, tug-of-war, crossbow shooting). The Con Cuong District Ethnic Culture and Sports Festival is expected to conclude on March 28, 2015.
