PV:Could you please tell us how the Vinh City Military Party Committee has led the implementation of political tasks and other key objectives, achieving significant results?

Comrade Vo Viet Thanh:During the past term, the Vinh City Military Party Committee effectively implemented the resolutions of Party congresses at all levels, directives, and orders from higher authorities regarding local defense and military affairs, leading the implementation of political tasks and achieving many important results. Focusing on the implementation of Resolution No. 8 of the 11th Central Committee on "The Strategy for National Defense in the New Situation," Resolution No. 28 of the Politburo on "Building provinces and centrally-administered cities into solid defense zones in the new situation," and Directive 36 of the Prime Minister on building a strong and comprehensive foundation; advising the Vinh City Party Committee on a resolution on leading national defense and security tasks for the 2011-2015 period, improving the quality of militia, self-defense forces, and reserve mobilization...

The unit has advised on the synchronized implementation of tasks related to building defense zones, conducting surveys, strictly managing and effectively utilizing land and national defense facilities; and promptly advising the City Party Committee and the City People's Committee on leading and directing the comprehensive implementation of policies and policies for the welfare of military families. The unit has also collected 323 remains of fallen soldiers, built 8 houses of gratitude, and, together with the city's people, supported the forces protecting the sea and islands and policy beneficiary families with 3.5 billion VND, purchased health insurance cards for 100% of mobile militia members, and created stable jobs for demobilized soldiers returning to the locality.

The Party Committee has advised and directed the effective implementation of combat training and exercises, improving the overall quality and combat strength of the city's armed forces. During the past term, 600 combat readiness inspections were conducted, and 7,200 officers and soldiers of the standing army and militia were deployed to participate in combat duty, crime prevention, flood and forest fire prevention. They also advised on building a strong and comprehensive political foundation, developing the militia force correctly, sufficiently, and with a focus on key areas, and effectively advising on recruitment.

The Party Committee also leads the building of strong agencies and units, doing well in Party building, personnel work, inspection, supervision, and mass mobilization; it leads the effective mobilization and propaganda work among cadres, soldiers, and the people of the city to awaken patriotism and the revolutionary traditions of their homeland, and to participate in movements to build new rural areas and eradicate hunger and poverty…

PV:What are the lessons learned from the leadership during the past term, Comrade?

Comrade Vo Viet Thanh:During the past term, the Vinh City Military Party Committee has drawn valuable lessons in leadership and guidance. Firstly, it has strictly adhered to and implemented resolutions, directives, and orders from higher levels; consistently coordinated closely with forces in the area, leveraging the strength of the entire political system to maintain stability in the region. Secondly, it has upheld the principle of democratic centralism, assigning individual responsibility for each area of ​​work, fostering dynamism, creativity, and a spirit of daring to think, act, and take responsibility among the Party committee and its leaders; and consistently fostering unity and solidarity within the Party Committee.

Third, focus on building a team of cadres and Party members with practical capabilities, good working methods and styles, innovative thinking and methods, and creative thinking. Fourth, consistently maintain strict implementation of regulations, especially the regulations on building a regular and disciplined Party organization and Party activities; at the same time, promptly, decisively, and strictly handle disciplinary violations, without concealing shortcomings. Fifth, always pay attention to, care for, and strengthen inspection and supervision work, proactively coordinating closely with Party committees, commune and ward governments, and departments in implementing and inspecting the results of leadership in carrying out local defense and military tasks, creating synchronized, harmonious, and highly unified coordination.

PV:For the upcoming term, in order to meet the increasingly demanding requirements of national defense and security in the new situation, what directions and solutions will the City Military Party Committee have, Comrade?

Comrade Vo Viet Thanh:Building upon the heroic traditions of the Red City, the Vinh City Military Party Committee is determined to achieve the title of Hero of the Armed Forces during the 2015-2020 term. To achieve this goal, the City Military Party Committee will enhance its leadership capacity and advisory effectiveness; promote democracy, unity, and intelligence; and build a team of exemplary and pioneering Party members and cadres. It will build a secure and self-reliant base, ready for combat, with a national defense posture integrated with a people's security posture, and an increasingly solid defense zone, maintaining stability in the area and creating conditions for the strong development of Vinh City, befitting its status as the center of the North Central region.

Striving to build 100% strong security and combat readiness bases, with all 25 wards and communes organizing combat and security drills combined with disaster prevention and rescue drills, achieving excellent results and ensuring safety in all aspects. Leading units to be comprehensively strong and doing a good job in Party building. Focusing on improving the quality of activities of mobile militia platoons, village militia leaders, and people's intelligence and reconnaissance forces. Coordinating to do a good job in Party development within the militia and selecting young people for military service, achieving both quality and quantity.
