At the working session this morning, the representative of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Vice Chairman Hua Ngoc Thuan, and NutiFood Company reviewed the project to establish a football academy. Accordingly, the NutiFood - HAGL Arsenal JMG Academy will be built according to the model of the HAGL Football Academy, which has produced talents such as Tuan Anh, Cong Phuong, Xuan Truong...

The construction area is expected to be from three to six hectares, operating on a non-profit basis. The funding for the construction and operation of the academy will be fully covered by this company.

In the project submitted to the HCM City People's Committee, the business side gave reasons for the need to establish a football academy in this locality. Because, although it is a big city, this is a "blank area" in terms of professional football. Building a football academy is urgent to create a generation of talented and ethical players for the city as well as contribute to Vietnamese football in the future.

After reviewing the project proposal, Mr. Hua Ngoc Thuan agreed to let NutiFood build a football academy in Ho Chi Minh City. In the immediate future, there are two plots of land that can be requisitioned for this project: the land on Truong Van Bang Street, District 2, currently managed by the District 2 Sports Center and the Rach Chiec Sports Complex.

Mr. Hua Ngoc Thuan said: “This football academy meets the socio-political requirements, so the city will fully support this company to implement it. The city accepts to adjust the planning of the land that the company chooses to suit the construction of the academy. In addition, it will invest in building roads in that area to facilitate access to the academy.”

In June 2015, the Academy will enroll its first class. Because the facilities have not been built yet, the first class will be sent to HAGL Academy for training, and will be transferred back to the Academy once the construction is completed.
