Cultural researcher Thai Kim Dinh reaches 90 years old

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of April 1, Nghe An Culture Magazine organized a meeting, exchange and congratulated cultural researcher Thai Kim Dinh on his 90th birthday. Attending were many artists from Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces.

Cultural researcher Thai Kim Dinh is considered an “old tree” of the folk culture research village, the leading Han Nom scholar in Nghe - Tinh today. He was born in 1926, in Tuong Xa village, Thinh Qua commune, Duc Tho prefecture (now Duc Chau commune, Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province).

Compared to many other folklorists, Thai Kim Dinh did not have the advantages in his education and qualifications. Due to his family's difficult circumstances, he only studied until the third year of primary school and had to drop out. However, with his studious spirit, steadfast self-study, patience, and passion for traveling and writing, he rose to become a shining example in the field of Nghe - Tinh folklore research.

Up to now, cultural researcher Thai Kim Dinh has nearly 30 books written by himself, more than 60 books written together, not to mention thousands of manuscript pages that are being cherished for publication in the near future. Among the published books, there are famous and valuable books such as:Dictionary of Nghe people, Five centuries of Nghe people's Nom literature, Stories about Uncle Ho, Treasure trove of Nghe folk tales, Han Nom authors of Nghe Tinh...Cultural researcher Thai Kim Dinh is the former head of the Arts Department at the Department of Culture and Information and Vice President of the Ha Tinh Arts Association.
