Goodbye Nokia - Hello Microsoft Lumia

"We are announcing that Nokia's Devices & Services division will become part of Microsoft, which means that Lumia, our smartphone brand, will become part of the Microsoft family."

Nokia's official blog has just given us the first images of the Microsoft logos or icons that will appear on their upcoming Lumia phones.

Recently, Microsoft officially confirmed that the name "Microsoft Lumia" will completely replace the Nokia brand name on all related products.

Related products include: Windows Phone devices, the Nokia group name on Facebook, the name on Twitter, the Nokia.com website, and on other social networks.

However, the rebranding from Nokia to Microsoft Lumia does not mean that the Nokia corporation has disappeared. Microsoft only acquired Nokia's mobile and services division; the rest of Nokia (unrelated to mobile) will become an independent company, completely separate from Microsoft.
