Republicans criticize Obama for signing deal with China
According to AFP, US House Speaker John Boehner warned on January 12 that President Barack Obama was launching a "crusade" against cheap energy sources after the US and China reached an agreement on curbing greenhouse gas emissions on November 12.
Speaking after Mr Obama and Chinese President Xi Jinping signed the historic deal in Beijing, Mr Boehner said: "This is yet another sign that the president intends to push through his job-killing policies, no matter how bad the impact is on America's heartland and the country as a whole. This is the latest example of the president's crusade against affordable and reliable energy, which is hurting jobs and squeezing middle-class families."

Meanwhile, US Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell said: "I see that the agreement does not require China to do anything for the next 16 years, while these carbon emissions violations are devastating my state and other states across the country."
The above statements show the sharp weapon of the Republican Party in the war related to climate change in the US Congress, where Republican lawmakers will control both houses from January 3, 2015 after President Obama's Democratic Party suffered a heavy defeat in the midterm elections last week./.
