Screening for congenital heart disease and motor disabilities in children

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 19, Hoan My Da Nang Hospital, Vinacapital Charity Fund, Understanding the Heart in collaboration with Nghe An Children's Support Fund organized a screening for congenital heart disease and motor disabilities for children in communes and wards in Hoang Mai town at 2 locations: Hoang Mai town medical center and Quynh Xuan ward kindergarten.

During one session, over 400 children were examined and provided free consultation for screening for congenital heart disease, motor disabilities, and cleft palate. Based on the examination and ultrasound results, 6 cases of children with congenital heart disease requiring intervention were discovered. Doctors at Hoan My Da Nang Hospital conducted a consultation and prescribed the most appropriate treatment method for the children's condition and pathology based on funding from the Vinacapital Charity Fund and other benefactors, while also guiding the children's families to complete the records and procedures so that the children could have surgery as soon as possible.

Children with mobility disabilities are examined, consulted and provided with wheelchairs at Hoang Mai Medical Center.

This is an extremely meaningful activity to assess children's health status, promptly detect and intervene in cases of children with congenital heart disease, motor disabilities, cleft palate, strabismus... especially children from poor households, difficult circumstances, orphans.../.
