Preparing for the ceremony to honor Nghe Tinh folk songs

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 6, the People's Committees of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces held a meeting to discuss the organization of the ceremony to honor Nghe Tinh folk songs as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting; Attending the meeting were representatives of the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts, on the side of Nghe An province was comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, on the side of Ha Tinh province was comrade Nguyen Thien - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province; also attending were representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches, sectors and units of the two provinces, and playwright Vu Hai.

In preparation for this meeting, the People's Committee of Nghe An province - Ha Tinh province has developed a draft plan to organize the ceremony to receive the certificate of UNESCO recognizing the folk songs of Nghe Tinh as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong, on behalf of the leaders of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, agreed on the viewpoint of organizing the honoring ceremony. Accordingly, the honoring ceremony will be held at the national level, broadcast live on Vietnam Television. The ceremony will be organized according to the regulations of UNESCO, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as well as the agreement of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces to develop a specific organization plan based on this meeting.
