Preparing for the ceremony to honor Nghe Tinh folk songs

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 6, the People's Committees of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces held a meeting to discuss the organization of the ceremony to honor Nghe Tinh folk songs as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting; Attending the meeting were representatives of the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts, on the side of Nghe An province was comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, on the side of Ha Tinh province was comrade Nguyen Thien - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province; also attending were representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches, sectors and units of the two provinces, and playwright Vu Hai.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong affirmed that the ceremony will be held solemnly and impressively.

The organization of the ceremony to receive the certificate of UNESCO recognizing Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam folk songs as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity aims to honor the value of this unique intangible cultural heritage of the two provinces of Nghe An - Ha Tinh in particular and of the Vietnamese people in general; affirm that the work of preserving and promoting the value of intangible cultural heritage has always received the attention of the Party and the State and that authorities at all levels and related local communities have been well implemented in Vietnam; demonstrating the sense of responsibility of the Government and people of Vietnam for preserving and promoting the value of the heritage of humanity.

In preparation for this meeting, the People's Committee of Nghe An province - Ha Tinh province has developed a draft plan to organize the ceremony to receive the certificate of UNESCO recognizing the folk songs of Nghe Tinh as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. In addition to the activities in the ceremony and the program of performing folk songs of Nghe Tinh, this plan also details the activities to celebrate the event such as the program Spring of the homeland - meeting overseas Vietnamese to exchange and perform folk songs; Folk song festival of Nghe An - Ha Tinh; Workshop "Students and students with the preservation and promotion of the value of the heritage of folk songs of Nghe Tinh; Organizing an exchange program with artisans, folk song clubs; Press conference...

At the meeting, representatives of the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee, Nghe An Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and playwright Vu Hai gave comments and contributed ideas to build a specific and detailed plan for the reception ceremony as well as the project to preserve and promote Vi and Dam folk songs in both provinces...

Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong, on behalf of the leaders of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, agreed on the viewpoint of organizing the honoring ceremony. Accordingly, the honoring ceremony will be held at the national level, broadcast live on Vietnam Television. The ceremony will be organized according to the regulations of UNESCO, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as well as the agreement of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces to develop a specific organization plan based on this meeting.
