(Baonghean.vn) – On the morning of April 4, the People's Committee of Yen Thanh district coordinatedcooperate with the Management Board of Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen Sectheld the stone laying ceremony of Truc Lam Yen Thanh Zen Monastery and started construction of the An Quoc Great Buddha statue.
Attending the ceremony, on the Central side were comrades: General Pham Van Tra - Former member of the Politburo, former Minister of National Defense; Nguyen Xuan Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology; Nguyen The Trung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization; Nguyen The Ky - Deputy Head of the Central Committee for Propaganda; Most Venerable Thich Thien Nhon - Chairman of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, dignitaries and clergy of the Central Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.
On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Ba Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, together with leaders of departments, branches and sectors at all levels; leaders of Yen Thanh district and a large number of Buddhists, people and benefactors inside and outside the district.

Truc Lam Yen Thanh Zen Monastery is a facility of the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect founded by Venerable Thich Thanh Tu - the person who restored the contemporary Zen sect on the original relic. The stone laying ceremony of Truc Lam Yen Thanh Zen Monastery was held in a solemn and dignified atmosphere.

The opening ceremony was a procession of flags, palanquins, horses, etc., showing the people's respect for the spiritual work, and at the same time, praising the spirit, religion, national pride and self-respect. Next, artistic performances, praising the homeland's scenery, love for the country, expressing the spirit of Vietnamese Buddhism accompanying the nation, enlivened the atmosphere before the main ceremony.

The construction of Truc Lam Yen Thanh Zen Monastery is a correct spiritual act. On the other hand, Yen Thanh is the land of the fences of dynasties in the history of the nation, so this sacred work will be a symbol of humanity, guiding people to good thoughts and deeds.

The stone laying ceremony is performed methodically and elaborately with the following parts: Incense burning, Purification, Heart Sutra chanting, Auspicious mantra chanting, Stone laying and Dedication.
According to the design, located on the top of Ru Gam is the An Quoc Great Buddha statue. The An Quoc Great Buddha statue was modeled after the bronze statue located at Truc Lam Zen Monastery - Ho Quoc Pagoda (Phu Quoc), 41m high, designed with concrete, steel, placed right in the middle of the top of Ru Gam, 260m above sea level. After construction is completed, the project will be a place to preserve many unique and valuable Buddhist documents and cultures, serving everyone who wants to learn about Buddhism.
In the near future, Truc Lam Yen Thanh Zen Monastery and other Buddhist works such as the An Quoc Great Buddha Statue will become sacred destinations, adding value to the spiritual and ecological tourism complex; a highlight for sustainable development, awakening potential, attracting tourists to Yen Thanh district in particular and Nghe An province in general.
