At a working session with the People's Committee of Ha Nam province on April 8, Mr. Daiken Murakami, General Director of Showa Denko Group (Japan) decided to invest in building a clean vegetable factory using experimental LED technology in Ha Nam province.

Hà Nam sẽ được tập đoàn Nhật Bản xây dựng một nhà máy sản xuất rau sạch thử nghiệm.
Ha Nam will be built by a Japanese corporation to test a clean vegetable production factory.

Mr. Daiken Murakami said that after conducting surveys in several provinces of Vietnam, Showa Denko Group found that Ha Nam is a province with good investment attraction policies, plus its geographical location near the capital Hanoi and convenient transportation network. The Group has decided to invest in building a clean vegetable factory using experimental LED technology in Ha Nam. This is the Group's first clean vegetable factory abroad. The factory will be built in Dong Van II Industrial Park (Duy Tien district) and is expected to produce its first products by the end of 2015. Because this is a pilot factory, the investment capital is only about 1 million USD, and when successful, the production scale will be expanded.

Mr. Daiken Murakami added that Showa Denko Group has successfully researched the technique of growing clean vegetables indoors using LED light. LED bulbs can create optimal light wavelengths, meeting the growth needs of plants and promoting growth about 2.5 times compared to conventional light. In addition, the amount of waste can be reduced from 50% to 10% in 1 harvest, the amount of water used in the process of caring for plants is also reduced and helps save costs. This technology is essential for current agricultural production when climate change is beginning to have an impact and negatively affect outdoor growing methods. Currently, the group has built 21 clean vegetable factories in Japan.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Mai Tien Dung, Secretary of the Ha Nam Provincial Party Committee, emphasized that the Showa Denko Group's investment in the factory is very suitable for the province's policy of developing agriculture towards industrialization. The province will invest in infrastructure, electricity, and irrigation systems for the Group to build the factory, while creating all favorable conditions in terms of policies and legal procedures for the Group. An Phu Hung Company of Ha Nam has cooperated with HBC International Company (Japan) to successfully implement a model of growing organic vegetables and tubers using Japanese technology for domestic consumption and export. This is an extremely favorable condition for Showa Denko Group to continue investing in the agricultural sector in the province.
