Thanh Chuong commends typical farmers for good production

(Baonghean.vn) - On March 23, Thanh Chuong District Farmers' Association organized a Conference of Typical Advanced Farmers for the period 2010 - 2015 with the participation of 80 farmer members who are typical advanced models in patriotic emulation movements launched by the Farmers' Association.

Typical advanced farmer delegates were honored to receive certificates of merit from the District People's Committee.

As a purely agricultural district with unfavorable natural conditions, and having just received a number of people from the Ban Ve hydroelectric reservoir area for resettlement, in recent years, the Farmers' Association at all levels in Thanh Chuong district has closely followed the grassroots and organized emulation movements among members and farmers.

The Association also regularly promotes service activities to support farmers, helping farmers to be proactive in fertilizer materials, capital, seeds, science and technology, applying mechanization to production, rapidly increasing the value per unit of production. Since then, emulation movements at all levels of the Association have been gradually launched more and more deeply and comprehensively in all aspects and fields.

Up to now, the whole district has 14,150 members who are good at production and business at all levels, including 4 households at the central level, 141 households at the provincial level, 460 households at the district level and 13,505 households at the grassroots level. In addition to voluntarily donating land and contributing working days, in the past 5 years, members and farmers in the district have contributed over 200 billion VND to build rural infrastructure, contributing to speeding up the progress of building new rural areas in localities. There are more and more examples of good economic performance, actively participating in social activities, helping the poor overcome difficulties and rise up.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Tran Van Huong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association praised the Thanh Chuong District Farmers' Association at all levels for doing a good job in service activities, rapidly increasing the number of good production and business households and advanced models. He also hoped that in the coming time, the Association at all levels would do a good job of criticism to help members with practical work, while paying attention to helping the poor, helping resettled people to soon stabilize their lives, develop production to work with all levels and sectors to build an increasingly prosperous rural face of the district.

The conference elected 5 delegates to attend the Conference of Typical and Advanced Farmers organized by the Provincial Farmers' Association, 1 delegate to attend the Patriotic Emulation Conference organized by the People's Committee of Nghe An province. The conference also awarded 65 certificates of merit from the District Farmers' Association, 15 certificates of merit from the District People's Committee to typical and advanced models.
