The Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City welcomes Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

Mr. Le Hoang Quan expressed his delight at the good friendly relations between Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Russia in general over the past years.

Continuing the visit and working trip to Vietnam of the high-level delegation of the Government of the Russian Federation led by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, on the afternoon of April 7th, at the Reunification Hall in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Le Hoang Quan - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, presided over the reception for the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

Speaking at the welcoming ceremony, Mr. Le Hoang Quan warmly welcomed Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev of the Russian Federation and the high-level delegation of the Russian Government to visit and work in Ho Chi Minh City, coinciding with the city's preparations to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the complete liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country.

Mr. Le Hoang Quan expressed his delight at the good friendly relations between Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular with the Russian Federation over the years, and affirmed that economic cooperation between the two sides has not yet lived up to the tradition of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

To further promote economic cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and the Russian Federation, this afternoon, Mr. Dmitry Medvedev and the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City will attend a working session with the business communities of both countries.
